You have always wanted to start a business and finally have the right idea. It seems so obvious that it will succeed and you have all the conviction in the world to see it through. But, there's just one problem - You need other's to see it just as you do. I have come across many business ideas and passionate business owner's full of excitement. There was always one thing they struggled with writing the proper business plan that can convey their vision and also help them get the necessary support and financing they need.
A business plan is very important when starting your business and should not be overlooked. As the business owner and king or queen of ideas. It helps you slow everything down and consider the important factors like the problem you are trying to solve, who your target market is, how to get to them, what marketing channels to use, what message your branding conveys, what type of sales you are trying to achieve, how the business will operate on a daily basis, who your competitors are in the market and what strenghts, weaknesses, opportunities and threats exist. Consider how you will manage the finances of the business from earning revenue, to applying for grants, and loans. What legal, human resource or other aspects should you be considering, what risks are involved in the business and what protections are necessary. What does success look like in the business and how can you achieve this success and what most people dont like to think of - a possible exit strategy incase things don't work out as you hoped.
As you can see there is a lot to unpack here and each question opens up a can of unanswered questions. Not to worry though, writing a business plan is fun and exiciting for some people. Don't be afraid to enlist help when you require it, so you can carry on with focusing on your idea and bringing it to fruition.
